Where We Started

Viet Artisans grew out of a dream to see the Mekong Delta thrive from within. We offer free vocational training and job placement so that women from rural and disadvantaged backgrounds can learn a craft, earn fair income, and gain lasting independence. Every handmade bag, notebook, or gift that leaves our craft center in Vinh Long Province carries that intention forward.

Viet Artisans began with a simple hope for homeland development, rooted in the belief that craft can be a pathway out of hardship for women in rural communities. From its earliest days, the social enterprise has focused on the Mekong Delta, a region rich in tradition yet marked by limited economic opportunity. By pairing thoughtful design with traditional Vietnamese techniques, the team set out to create handmade products that could carry both cultural meaning and real-world impact, offering a way for artisans to share their skills with a wider audience while supporting their own families and neighborhoods through steady, dignified work that respects heritage and fosters pride in place.

At the heart of the work lies a craft center where women receive free vocational training and ongoing mentorship in skills such as bookbinding, silkscreening, and bagmaking.
